Upgrading the Linksys router’s firmware using the classic web-based setup page

Upgrading the Linksys router’s firmware using the classic web-based setup page is necessary if you want to improve the current performance of your device and fix the issues that the previous firmware version may have.  While you have the option to let your router automatically update its firmware, manual upgrade lets you manage the updates you want to load on your device.

NOTE:  The latest version of your device’s firmware is posted on its product page in the Linksys support site.  Check your device’s current firmware version to see if you need to upgrade it to the latest version posted in the support site.  You can see this information at the uppermost right portion of the router’s web-based setup page.
